Pre-season done and dusted, practice matches finished, all to the lead up for Round 1 this Saturday April 8 as we take on Mornington at Mornington.   Coach, Wayne Capp is champing at the bit to lead the Stonecats in his first match as Senior Coach.

Cappy said, "We can't wait to head down to Mornington this week.  All the guys are ready and primed to go after a long pre-season.   Selection this week will be difficult with many of the younger guys impressing during the practice matches, along with some new faces."

"It would be great to have as many Stonecat supporters there as possible to cheer the boys on."

"I am looking forward to a big 2017 from all our Footy and Netball teams. "

And with the return of Steve Reidy as his assistant, everyone is looking forward to a big round one.

Always a tough assignment at Alexandra Park and with a lot of recent history, both sides will meet to challenge for the Aidan Graham Shield.     Mornington who have recruited well, will be keen to get up on the the Stonecats to record a first round win.

With new signings Christian Ongarello from Dromana, Lachlan Williams from Somerville, and the Maffra Man Mountain Macklin Raine we will be equally keen to notch up a first round win.

Equally desirous to record wins in Round 1 will be our Netball Girls. On the back of mixed results from 2016 with the B Grade reigning premiers, all the girls are looking forward to a competitive and successful season.

We wish all of our Football and Netball teams success!

After the game everyone is invited back to the Stone Cave for our Round One season Opening function 'Roll Out the Barrel'

Round 2 sees us in a Grand Final re match against Mt Eliza on GOOD FRIDAY - April 14 for the first home game for the season.   Be sure to keep the date clear. With the  unfurling of the 2016 premiership flag,  RCH Good Friday Appeal fundraising, The Flying Calamari Brothers food stall, AFL showing live in rooms afterwards, where else would you rather be on Good Friday?

Finally Membership packages available for purchase.  See any of the committee members to arrange membership.  Being a financial member of the Stonecats comes  with its benefits, but more importantly it promotes the longevity and success of this great sporting club.
